This is a C. 1920 C. Whitall, Tatum Torsion Pharmacy Balance. It is in an mahogany case with a hinged mahogany and glass lid. The wood has been painted black. There is a small nameplate on the lid which reads, “Whitall, Tatum Co. New York - Philad.” It has a white marble stone covering over the balance mechanism housed underneath. There is a working dial which lifts up the balance to free it for weighing objects. The dimensions of the scale are 13 1/4” x 7” x 7”. There are 2 drawers in the base, one of which has 3 brass weights, 5,2 and 2 grams. It is missing the 2 removable pans.
