S-47 19th Century English Diamond Scale
This is a 19th Century English Diamond Scale. The scale is a steel equal arm beam scale with swan neck ends and brass pans. The beam is 12.8 cm long and the pans are 4 cm in diameter. The carved from sold mahogany box measures 13.8 cm x 6 cm . There are 8 karat weights in the case, 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1/2 & 1/8. The is also a set of tweezers that slides into the base of the box. The scale is in very good condition with just some tarnish on one of the brass pans. Hinges are in great condition but clasp does not close properly.
